Don has 25+ years in employee benefits industry leadership, with diverse experience in all areas of strategy, finance, distribution, marketing, sales and operations focusing on Affinity-based programs with specific emphasis on employee benefits. Most recently, Don was a senior executive with Marsh/Mercer.
Ryan Helsing, Co-Founder, Chief Technology Officer
Ryan is nationally recognized as a leader in employee benefits industry technology creation, starting in his mid-teen years with creations such as Benefit Pods. With a Computer Science background, expertise in Ruby on Rails development and a deep understanding of the ACA law, Ryan created the Accord software, and was most recently recognized by Employee Benefits News as a Tech Innovator.
Jim Fredrickson, Executive Vice President
Jim Fredrickson has over 30+ years of senior management experience in the benefit administration process automation business. Widely known for his forward vision relative to "where will our customers need us to be going forward?", Jim is an unrelenting advocate for excellence in the client customer service arena. Jim was the original founder of IPA, one of the most innovative and successful, benefit enrollment and administration firms, which was acquired by Mercer in 2010.
Ryan Moulder, Lead Counsel
Ryan has been practicing in the Affordable Care Act area since its inception. He has written and spoken extensively on a variety of ACA topics with a particular focus on strategy, plan design and compliance. Ryan graduated with distinction from Georgetown University Law Center where he received his LL.M. in Taxation with a certificate in Employee Benefits.
Steve Helsing - Co-Founder, Chief Operating Officer
Steve brings 30 years in the employee benefits industry, primarily focused on start-up and turnaround roles for the organizations he has served. Steve spent more than 11 years with Seabury & Smith (a division of Marsh & McLennan) in consulting and senior management roles. In 1997, he joined Employease as VP of Sales to help launch the first internet based benefits administration and HR system. In 2000, he began consulting with organizations on the integration of online enrollment strategies and voluntary/worksite benefits enrollment, his work eventually led to the formation of Tricerion Group in 2007. With rapid growth over 3 years, Tricerion Group was acquired by USI in 2011. Steve also co-founded Centerian, focused on delivering payment solutions to the insurance industry. As COO of Accord, he is focused on organizational structure, operations and development.
David Essary - Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer
David brings 20+ years of employee benefits marketing experience, pioneering the delivery of supplemental benefits at the workplace with Unum, and merging that focus into the emerging online enrollment & benefit administration space in the early 2000’s. This culminated in co-founding Tricerion Group with Steve Helsing in late 2007, which was acquired by USI in 2011. David & Steve also co-founded Centerian in 2013, focused on providing payment solutions to the insurance space. David currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of the Bobby Dodd Institute, and in as CEO of Accord, he is focused on market development, strategic direction and financial relationships.
